Venues: All venues on the Tour are open from 9:30am until 4:30pm on both days. You may view them in any order over one day or two days if you wish to take a more leisurely pace. The venue locations are kept under wraps prior to the event (addresses and descriptions are only revealed in the Tour Guide) - we don't want to spoil the many delightful surprises we have in store for you!
Venues will be ticked off in your Tour Guide as you visit them. You may only visit each venue once over the course of your tour.
Te Kowhai: Included as a venue on the Tour this year is Hospice Wairarapa's very own home base, Te Kowhai (that's one cat out of the bag). We've been through a number of changes in the last few years and would love you to visit so you can get a real "ground zero" understanding of where the money we raise from Country Christmas goes. Come and grab a coffee and bite to eat from the vendors onsite, and have a good look around.
Directions: You will find a map with the venues marked in the Tour Guide. Venues and directions will be well sign-posted. Please Note: Although the venues are numbered for easy identification on the map you may visit them in any order you wish. All venues are searchable on Google Maps; we recommend using your car or smartphone navigation services if you are unfamiliar with the area.
Where to Eat: You are spoilt for choice for fabulous eateries around Masterton and Carterton. Our "best in town" recommendations are marked on the map in your Tour Guide. Click here to find out more about these dining spots.
Fete: The Fete is open from 9:00am to 4:30pm daily and is being held in the Masterton Recreation Centre. The Tour Guide is your means of free admission. Click here for a list of Fete Stallholders.
Footwear: We suggest you wear sensible, comfortable, easily removable footwear. You will be provided a recyclable shoe bag (generously donated by Saunders Shoes) when you collect your Tour Guide. Please keep it with you on the Tour so you can take your shoes off and carry them as you explore inside the venues.
Toilets: Venues offering toilets are clearly identified in the Tour Guide. To ease demand on private homes we recommend you make use of the public facilities in Masterton or Carterton, which are marked on the map.
Parking: In town please use kerbside parking facilities. At country venues there will be signs or parking attendants to guide you - please follow their directions.
Driving: Please be careful driving, particularly on country roads, some of which are very narrow. Turn-offs are clearly marked with the Hospice logo and directional arrows.
